I dated Jody McCrea

Talk about old memories. This is Jody McCrea son of actor Joel McCrea. I used to date him back when I was a girl. Maybe 16. I was to young to date . I met him at Zinks record shop. He said Hi I'm Jody McCrea and I said Hi I'm Bonnie Groves. I didn't know his father was a famous actor. Jody was going to school at the New Mexico Military institute. NMMI.
We used to walk to the movies together. Effie remembers this.
I never let him walk me home I just met him up at the corner. One Sat. here he came walking down the street with another boy looking for me. They were knocking on doors. Effie and Momma went to the door. I ran and hid in my closet. I knew I was in real bad trouble. Momma met him. She talked to him forever it seemed like. I wouldn't come out. I never saw him again. Momma never said a word to me. I guess she didn't tell Daddy either or he would have beat the hell out of me.
Any way he played Bone Head in the Surfs up movies. I read he died in Roswell . He was 74. He had give up the movies and became a cattle rancher in Roswell.

Dallas Texans

Ok so Old Navy messed up but it brought back and old memory to me. Effie and I and a bunch of other girls from Roswell went out with the Dallas Texans when they were training in Roswell at NMMI. LOL Me and a friend of mine went and picked them up and shared them with our friends. It was a hoot.
Neta and I went to check those guys out at NMMI. We were in Netas old pickup and those guys wouldn't give us a look. So we went home and fixed up and then went back in Netas fathers brand new Lincoln . Then we got them. LOL
Somebody at Old Navy needs a little help with their American Football League history. In 1961, the Dallas Texans went 6-8 and finished second in the AFL West division behind the San Diego Chargers, who lost the 1961 AFL championship to the Houston Oilers. The next year, the Texans beat the Houston Oilers in the AFL Championship and promptly moved to Kansas City to become what is known today as the Chiefs.
